Law school classes are known for its use of the socratic method. Here are some hints to law school students:
Hint 1:
One thing I’ve found helpful is to raise my hand voluntarily when I know the answer to a hard question that the teacher asks. This way, it lowers my chances of being called upon when I don’t know the answer.
Hint 2:
During class, a professor asked the class a question, then calls on a student to answer it.
The student replied, “Can you repeat the question?”
The teacher answered, “No.”
Lesson learned: Don’t ask a professor to repeat a question if you weren’t paying attention. Rather say, “Please rephrase.” Then they are usually more than willing to rephrase the question for you.
haha, that’s pretty funny. thanks for the tips. i’ll be sure to look out for these characteristics in my students. =)
